Locals Tips
Farringdon is on the outer fringes of the City of London, its boundaries are often up for debate, they cross into the neighbouring areas of Clerkenwell, Blackfriars and Ludgate Hill. One thing that’s not up for debate, however, is how much there is to do in Farringdon.
Barts Pathology Museum is housed in St Bartholomew’s Hospital, it houses over 5000 medicinal specimens, displayed over 3 mezzanine levels. Not for the faint hearted, but an interesting activity, nevertheless. You can see a gout inflated hand, a ‘tight laced’ liver, almost split in half due to the tight lacing of a woman’s corset, and the skull of John Bellingham, who assassinated British Prime Minister, Spencer Perceval in 1812.
