At one time having quite a poor reputation, it hasnāt stopped Hackney from transforming into the cool hotspot it is now, where people are flocking to live. Once known as an industrial area, thereās now plenty of heart in Hackney. This is where high art and edgy innovation meet and create something different altogether. Hackney has a real life of its own and the thrilling clubs, bars, music venues and theatres attract talented people from all over the world looking for a place in London where their skills will be appreciated.
Hackneyās shops and markets sell temptation by the truckload, from vintage fabrics and designer must-haves to rare meats and artisanal bread. Hackney Empire is the greatest survivor of the cockney music hall tradition and has the best and most raucous pantomime in London every Christmas.

Eating Out
Counter Cafe: With views of the Olympic Stadium across the pond, this little cafe has plenty to offer. The food is divine, we recommend you try out their pies. They also have a cracking brunch menu, but you can still get perfectly poached eggs all day long. For a cosy place with an authentic feel, go and visit Counter Cafe.
Morito: Thereās something for everyone here with an array of tapas, mezze and larger plates at lunch and dinner ā also serving up breakfasts, with made-to-order Moroccan breads and homemade halloumi. At Morito, they make exceptionally-sourced produce shine such as their brilliant buffalo butter which marries exceptionally well with their fresh from the oven breadbasket. Simple pleasures, quality ingredients in a great atmosphere.
E5 Bakehouse: The E5 Bakehouse is an East London artisan bakery and coffee shop. They are passionate about sourdough and the lost traditions of their baking ancestors. Using organic, locally-sourced ingredients, they serve delicious, daily-baked breads, fresh lunches, homemade cakes and coffee. Their head bakers also share their knowledge and expertise in a weekly bread course.

When youāre done, you can head to London Fields or walk along Regentās Canal.

Springfield Park: This giant park officially opened in 1905 and has been thriving ever since. Clissold Park: Many venture to Clissold Park for a variety of reasons. Clissold Park in our opinion, holds the most diverse type of activities: aviary and animal enclosures, childrenās play area, cafe, fountains, dog-free areas, games, organic food growing area, pond dipping platforms, paddling pool, table tennis, a river, a refreshment kiosk, tennis courts and a wheels park. Amidst it all, lies the infamous āClissold Houseā which is a gorgeous building typically used for weddings, meetings, and parties.
