Estate & Letting Agents in Hackney

Estate & Letting Agents in Hackney

    Hackney Area Guide

Hemmingfords, your trusted Hackney estate agents, manages both the sales and lettings of stunning properties across Hackney, including E8, E9, and E5. We offer a diverse range of properties for sale and rent, from family homes to luxury apartments in Hackney’s prime locations.

At one time having quite a poor reputation, it hasn’t stopped Hackney from transforming into the cool hotspot it is now, where people are flocking to live. Once known as an industrial area, there’s now plenty of heart in Hackney. This is where high art and edgy innovation meet and create something different altogether. Hackney has a real life of its own and the thrilling clubs, bars, music venues and theatres attract talented people from all over the world looking for a place in London where their skills will be appreciated.

Hackney’s shops and markets sell temptation by the truckload, from vintage fabrics and designer must-haves to rare meats and artisanal bread. Hackney Empire is the greatest survivor of the cockney music hall tradition and has the best and most raucous pantomime in London every Christmas.

    Eating Out

    Eating Out

Counter Cafe: With views of the Olympic Stadium across the pond, this little cafe has plenty to offer. The food is divine, we recommend you try out their pies. They also have a cracking brunch menu, but you can still get perfectly poached eggs all day long. For a cosy place with an authentic feel, go and visit Counter Cafe.

Morito: There’s something for everyone here with an array of tapas, mezze and larger plates at lunch and dinner – also serving up breakfasts, with made-to-order Moroccan breads and homemade halloumi. At Morito, they make exceptionally-sourced produce shine such as their brilliant buffalo butter which marries exceptionally well with their fresh from the oven breadbasket. Simple pleasures, quality ingredients in a great atmosphere.

E5 Bakehouse: The E5 Bakehouse is an East London artisan bakery and coffee shop. They are passionate about sourdough and the lost traditions of their baking ancestors. Using organic, locally-sourced ingredients, they serve delicious, daily-baked breads, fresh lunches, homemade cakes and coffee. Their head bakers also share their knowledge and expertise in a weekly bread course.

    Going Out

    Going Out

Hackney Empire: Having undergone major renovations, this theatre is a one-of-a kind gem that provides entertainment to global and international audiences. With red seats and gold interior this theatre is great for any performance (particularly during panto season) so see what they are showcasing today…

Broadway Market: On Saturday, Broadway Market is not only packed with people but also an array of fresh foods and different flavours to sample. You will find a great selection of organic meats, cheeses, and vintage clothes. There are a lot of great restaurants lining this street as well. When you’re done, you can head to London Fields or walk along Regent’s Canal.

Netil Market: Here you’ll find a more low-key vibe compared to the bustling Broadway Market. During the week there are fifteen permanent shops but every Saturday, the local vendors double as food, drinks, and crafts come fill the site.

    Shopping

    Shopping

House of Hackney: Transport yourself to another world when you visit this amazing home, clothing, and gift store. The patterns and textures you see when you walk in are incredible and you can find anything to match any home or outfit.
Artwords Bookshop: Specialising in books about contemporary visual arts and visual culture, this bookshop covers a variety of subjects as well as offering many magazines. Artwords has been around since 2001 and now has two stores, so if you enjoy reading and finding interesting books, this is the store to visit.
LN-CC: Experience luxury shopping after booking an appointment to see LN-CC. The store is always evolving and has the interior design to make you believe it. You can find menswear, womenswear, music and books. Besides merchandise, you can also ask about their library, record store, gallery, and club with a state-of-the-art sound system.

    Outdoor Sace

    Outdoor Sace

Hackney Downs: Having been awarded a Green Flag Award for being one of the best green spaces in the country, Hackney Downs remains the heart of the area.

Springfield Park: This giant park officially opened in 1905 and has been thriving ever since. Originally the area was created and owned by three private houses of which, one remains (The White House). The park is huge and overlooks Walthamstow Marshes. Springfield Park also holds a Green Flag Award and offers the fantastic facilities including an athletics track, table tennis, outdoor chess boards, cricket pitch, tennis courts, conservation area, river, café, children’s playground, pond, bandstand, fountain… the list goes on!

Clissold Park: Many venture to Clissold Park for a variety of reasons. Clissold Park in our opinion, holds the most diverse type of activities: aviary and animal enclosures, children’s play area, cafe, fountains, dog-free areas, games, organic food growing area, pond dipping platforms, paddling pool, table tennis, a river, a refreshment kiosk, tennis courts and a wheels park. Amidst it all, lies the infamous ‘Clissold House’ which is a gorgeous building typically used for weddings, meetings, and parties.
